Boating |
Boating is available on picturesque Lake Vembanad – the resort has a small speedboat which holds 7 people plus driver. A larger slower boat can be arranged on request. A trip on the lake is a delight whatever time of day it is taken. Early morning, as the mist lifts from the Lake, local fishermen can be seen in their easily identifiable sailboats. This is a must photo opportunity for everyone with a camera. Later in the day is an ideal time as the cooler breeze from the lake compensates for the heat of the land. Evening has its own special beauty as the sunsets over the waters. The Lake comprises many beautiful coconut palm filled islands where one bypasses local peoples busy with their daily chores but always with time to wave a friendly hello. Whilst the lake is tidal from the Arabian Sea, it is calm and safe for all types of cruising. Pedal & canoe boating We have some smaller boats for the more energetic guests – pedal boat around our inner lake, canoe down our water canals between the cottages and landscape gardens and see the fish and frogs that abound. This is a very relaxing and extremely safe place for children of all ages. |
